Welcome to Zone Five

Thanks for visiting my new website, Zone Five. If you are familiar with my previous, long-running, infrequently-updated site A Fine Dram, you will no doubt wonder why I’m starting a new site when I haven’t updated that one in such a long time. Fair question.

I see this as a clean slate. Every time I have updated, reformatted, or changed hosts for AFD it was pulling a lot of legacy stuff. Zone Five is a completely new site with a new name and no old AFD content whatsoever. It really just came down to the fact that I wanted a new project to work on. And I want a new place where I can share my writing and photography—both of which I’m actively trying to get back into—that has very low friction to post and is simple and easy to maintain.

That’s exactly what this is. It’s small, fast, simple, easy.
